I got a called from a property management office, I am wondering if this is considered commercial property even if it is residential housing (i.e single family home). I am asking because I can work without a license if it is commercial (license pending) but I cant work residential with my license pending.

Actullay I think Nassau is the same as Suffolk in this. An LCO that is only doing maintenance of what is on the property that means no installs they do not need to be licensed by the Consumer Affairs Dept. Many people working for the CA dept do not know this exception.

I never heard of working with a license pending. No license not legal when a license is required.

Do not work for management co's. They require jumping through hoops to get paid and they pay so low that they are not worth working for.

Being registered DBA and having a sales tax no. and a EIN number, and having a Workman's Comp exemption if you are working solo with no employees is all that is needed when operating a legal business where a license is not required.

No installs no license is required in Sufflok County.

No nassau a license is needed for maintenance also. Thats why I cant work until I get it, unless its considered commercial.

I got a call from a property manager today, but i didnt call back yet because I dont know if I can even work yet. So suffolk doesnt require a license for maintenance?

I still can't believe the political oppression for business in some of these communist states... isn't there a 2 minute call to your county lords, that will give you the answer for sure??? :)
