A leak has developed in the fountain pump. I'm assuming from the location its where the turbine bolts into the engine flange. Tried tightening the bolts though I had my doubts it would fix it. My main question is can I survive another month til we shut it down for winter before dealing with this? i'll explain my reasons in later pics.

The location of this pump is making me very nervous. It's in a maintenance closet that leads into a hallway. If it or the pipe were to burst it would be a nightmare.

So I want to move it just outside the wall under this deck stair. HACK ALERT PIC

Maybe you just need a new shaft seal for the pump. I believe those are easy to come by.

Will it require draining the water?

Oh yeah - it's an off-season job, and if that's a Jacuzzi pump (or really any pump) you want to use penetrating oil on the case bolts.

Rather than replacing the seal, maybe it's time for a complete rebuild. Looks like it's a few years old. Good off season day job for ya.
On a side note, how's the hospital audit coming?

Even if it was a no-name pump you couldn't get parts for, there will be a generic shaft seal available.

Need to get that audit finished. Been fishing too much.

I'll will heed ya'lls advice though and try and survive til winter. Then I'll probably have some pump winterizing questions.

getter done now pete, the leak will only get worse. there can't be more than 1 hours work involved. i have torn apart many small pumps for warranty work.

here's the trick, don't put back anything that you take out, perform and charge for a complete replacement of all seals and gaskets. inspect all moving parts and use the recommended sealer and torque settings.

    :)

pumps can be winterized through the voultes
