I have a snapper high vac push mower (21 inch) That had a briggs engine,
The amount that i used it and the hills i used in on im surprised it lasted this long

I think it is best if i just replace the motor (Lots of blow by)

As far as i can tell most all small engines will fit it
I have a newer Snapper ninja with the Kawasaki that runs perfect, but it does not have nearly as many hours on it

What engine would you replace it with?
    Another briggs?

    Experience welcome

Push mowers are getting expensive lol

I've used a residential model Honda for the last 6 years commercially. Starts on first pull every time.

If your still looking for a mower engine. I’ve got a Honda GCV 160 I’ll sell you. Starts on the first pull or your money back.

If you want to repower a mower you have to look at the scarf diameter and how it is key'ed.
I personally would stick with a Honda - their commercial engines are excellent BUT you won't be too far from a the cost of a decent new mower.

My suggestion is honda, i have ran husquavarna awd push mowers few years never an issue with honda engine. Just replacing the worn out tires. The rest of the mower falls apart before engine goes.
