I have a new account where the owner put a drain in near a large tree in the back yard. All the grass that was under the tree is gone and the soil is eroding away and exposing the roots. What should I do to restore the grass and keep the dirt in place over the roots? Any help would be appreciated!

That drain needs to be dispersed, or it will continue to remove soil... A barrel in the ground is a simple solution that is not a problem for the tree roots if it is dug in with out killing the tree. The roots gro back without further disturbance, and you can grow grass over the top of it.

3/4" river rock around the drain is also good with some edging and you can make it a decorative location... :)
