question about spindle bearings

    hey guys was just wondering if anybody could help this is my first time replacing spindle bearings and i cant seem to get the bearings out of the housing is the shaft pressed in and if so can i pound it out or does it have to be pressed out because i beat the s**t out of it and it wont budge thank you

    All the ones I've ever done had to be pressed in and out.

    Most that I have seen should be pressed out from the bottom(the spindle shaft that is). The shaft is usually a little larger on the top side compared to the bottom. Hope this helps you out.

    The first one I disassembled I pressed the Hel* out of it only to find that there was a small c-clip hidden on the one side. Check closely for C-clips.

    Who makes the mower and spindle?

    There are several retention methods used for spindles in use.

    Internal and external snap rings are very common
