Question for pool builders. Formal falls into pool.

I am designing my first formal type swimming pool waterfall. I would like to use 3 sheer descent type weirs, preferrably lighted. I was thinking of using a 2' or 3' for the center weir and a couple of 1' weirs for the side weirs.

Do you have any manufacturers that you prefer that provide good value and easy installation. I have been to both Jandy and Zodiac's website.

Also for the main construction I was thinking of using concrete block and then tiling the block with a possible combination of marble and other tile. Are any natural stones or marble better than others?

I am just looking for tips or pitfalls to avoid. I may have more specific questions as I get closer in the design.

There is an existing source of water because I will be demoing the old falls.

Here is a pic from Zodiac's website of something similar to what I am thinking.

Thanks. I am glad there are some pool builders on here now.

I really like the tile here. Is this a tumbled marble?

Here is a picture of our pool, we have brick. It gets an algae build up that has to be cleaned about every other month, by the waterfall.

You might look into setting up an account with a pool equipment wholesaler, like SCP. They don't sell to the public, but, if you think this is something that you might continue business wise, than it's worth it. You'll get better pricing and more products to choose from. Here's a link....

We use them and Florida Water Products, but, FWP is just in Florida and Texas.

We only use Jandy for the valves and their AquaLink. Fiber Star and Pentair also make great products.

FYI, marble will look like crap if it's introduced to harsh pool chemicals.
