Quick Books : Question

    The first two or three years I ran my mowing business, I did things the old-fashioned way with regards to keeping my books. Then, I downloaded the free vesion of Quickbook as my business was growing, and the number of monthly invoices increased. I liked it, and bought the "Simple Start" edition for $50 or so, and have continued to use it to date.

    I've contemplated purchasing Quickbook Pro, but am wondering if there is really an advantage in me doing so. I'm a sole proprietor, have no payroll, and use a debit card for virtually all purchases, so have no need to print checks.

    For any of you who have used both versions, are there any features of the Pro version that would benefit me? Thanks.

    I had the free version Simple Start and upgraded to Pro this winter. I think there are several more reports available, but the one thing that stands out to me on the Pro is the company snapshot. One page shows you pretty much everything that is going on with your company - who owes you, how much money you have in your bank account, a graph that compares last years revenue and expenses to current year. I am glad I upgraded, so is my accountant.

    Started out with the quickstart a few years back but soon after i was advised by the accountant to upgrade to Pro, new version come out yearly and sooner or later you be best to go to pro for more reports and options. QB support also advised us to go to pro as quick start is just what it says.
