I have a new customer that wants their lawn renovated in the next week. its about 5000 sq ft. They have already killed off existing lawn. would you guys recommend tilling the soil or 3-4 passes with aerator before seeding. I own the aerator and would have to rent the tiller.....Dale

Depends on the type of grass. If you were to put in Bermuda (like I would in Southern California), you could just aerate and the Bermuda would take over. Otherwise I would till the soil. Ideally, however, it would be best to get a sodcutter and remove the existing turf, if it is still intact.

To a kill out, heavy aeration, 50% overlap, verticut, and seed, good to go:drinkup:
