Why worry about how many crew you have and just charge by the yard? Around here, $85-100/yard. So if your 3 man crew can do 3 yards and hour...it can be anywhere from $255-300/hour.
Thanks, We came up with 925 for 9 yds. I was looking for a rate like you gave me so thanks again.
Price of mulch + $40- $50 a yard to spread it.
Same as Scraper, by the yard. Edging and prep work is extra too.
We do not charge by the man hour.

Charge by yard, we get anywhere from $45.00 /$55.00.

same as rodfather prep/edging is extra charge...:D

What's going rate per yard installed in your area? My pricing includes the edging, but not prep work like cleanup.

$75 for double or triple ground, and dyed mulch. Cedar is $85.
40-55 per yard? Are you kidding? I thought I was low at $75 per yard, prep work not included. What is everyone else charging per yard prep work not included?
$40 per yard!!! Quality BARK mulch cost me $27 per yard. Lets see if I charge $40 per yard after paying for the mulch that leaves me with $13.00 per yard. It takes a manhour to spread a yard and typically my guys like to be paid at the end of the week. A manhour with health, taxes, unempl, work comp, etc.. cost me about $16.00 total on average. Let see $13 minus $16 is - $3.00 per yard. Factor the dump truck, tools, gas, biz insr, truck insur, etc.. -$3.00 minus overhead ??????? Nice profit eh!

Like I said - ARE YOU KIDDING?

Yeah, any knucklehead can spread mulch. But not everyone can make a living doing it.
A yard of double shredded bark wholesale is around $20.00 delivered, one guy can easily spread 2-3 yards per hour so........

One yard is 27 cubic feet so we are only talking 8 X
10 cubic feet wheelbarrow loads dumped and spread per hour
to install 3 yards per hour.

Based on 1 hour assuming two guys

revenue $200.00 (4 yards installed at $50 per yard)

expenses $80.00 (4 yards)
labor $30.00 (2 guys @ $11 per hour plus ins. etc)

net $90.00 (less any other fixed or variable expenses).

I typically am around $50 per yard to be competitive but sell maybe 15-20% of proposals. Obviously we are assuming easy access and beds without a disproportionate amount of shrubs.
Amazing what two mexicans can do in a day! To be honest too who installs 8 yards and tells Mrs it was 10! Dishonest or part of the business?

I charge between $85-100/yard installed. That includes prep work, edging only, as I don't have any properties that I can just throw mulch down. This year I subbed out my large properties (20 yards +) to a mulch blowing service....talk about making $$$$.
