Rain in the form of sprinkling was compared at intervals after spraying with a 3-way herbicide.
More results and discussion after 7 days. The labels will be bigger then.

A 3-way herbicide was applied and dandelions of equal age were watered to simulate rainfall after certain intervals, from 1 to 30 minutes, and no rain. After 5 days most of the weeds were affected.
As an example a photo of the 20 minute test is included.

More photos will be posted later.

I've also been wondering about the efficacy of my herbicide treatments before rain. So when i got home the other day, and there was a ginormous thunderstorm on it's way (an almost everyday occurrence here in summer) I sprayed some leftover mix in my driveway. Ala mr. Riggle. Celsius high rate and dismiss low rate, no surfactant. Temp 95, humidity darn near 100%. The heavens opened 15 minutes later. Photo is taken 2 days later.

Smallflower buttercup showing signs of distress. Common bermuda laughs at it. Hey, it gets run over by three trucks and several cars every day, what's a little herbicide to that stuff?
Dog fennel is also droopy. Yellow nutsedge, not yet.

We use 4 way weed control with additives including surfactant. We have finished lawns in the rain before and it worked good.

Rain in the form of a sprinkling can was applied at intervals after spraying a 3-way herbicide. About a quarter-inch was applied. After two weeks, It appears that "rain" before 20 minutes reduced the effectiveness, but all of the dandelions were affected to some degree.
I can show the individual close-up photos if you want.

Here are the individual weed pictures and the minutes before "rain" in the form of a sprinkling can applying a quarter inch of water. A generic 3-way herbicde containing Trimec was applied at an estimated one-ounce per thousand sqft.
