Rain Showers after hydroseed

Hello Guys,
I have read your awesome replies to the posted threads and I thought of posting my own problem, hopefully you can help me. I live in metro Detroit area and we just got our hydroseed done, 3 days after we got hit with the worst storm this season, heavy rain showers. The showers lasted for 2 hours and we got 5 inches in those 2 hours, parts of the topsoil were even washed.
My question is whether to reseed now with 4lbs/1000 sqft or wait 2 weeks and then fill the empty patches or worst case scenario re-do the whole yard.

Oh my! That must have been hard to watch. I would think that you could do either. If you’re antsy and it bugs you, go ahead and get to work on the bare spots. I'm not sure about re-seeding the whole thing.

You’ll want to use the same kind of seed and also re-seed any areas that you disturb. I wonder if the people that did the hydro seeding would be willing to help you out in this situation. It wouldn’t hurt to call and see what they can do for you.

Whew, yeah, that is a tough one. First thing I would do is spend however long it takes procuring lots of the same seed, as KerbDMK suggested. Look along the bottom edge, there may be some soil and seed you can redistribute yourself or pay someone to try to salvage. It didn't vanish, it just moved. I believe I would try that as soon as it is dry enough to work in, then fill and re-seed empty areas 10-14 days later. Good luck to you.

The resolution of the photos makes it a little difficult for me to see exactly how well the seed came in, but it seems to have done better than I thought it would. I would still recommend that you talk to the people that did the hydro seeding and see what they can do to help you with any bare or thin spots.

They should at least be able to help you get the same seed that they used if you need or want to do anymore seeding yourself.
