Hey everyone, just got off the phone with a customer. Wants me to rake her lawn for only 25 bucks! About 1/5 acre. I think it will take about 2 hrs. Told her 30 an hour and she said I was crazy. She will pay me 30 for the entire lawn. I thought I was being nice with the 30 an hour? What u all think?

Who rakes lawns anymore? Just mulch them up with your mower and you'll be done in just a few minutes and have nothing to haul off.

If you talk to her again, tell her your rates have doubled...The only thing you need to rake are the leaves against the fencing and in bushes and whatnot...and mow over them...otherwise rent a vac and take care of them that way...charge her for the dump fee and rental fee...easily $100 just in those two costs...

Screw that job!! I'd do it for $40/hour + dump fees. I generally just mulch up everything with the mower.

Yeah, I figured at least 40 an hour too, that's what I meant about being nice. And yes she's a penny pinching old lady, who wants her lawn done the old fashioned way. I'm only 17, but, I think I'm worth more than that and do a better job than that. She just wants a 12 year old kid to do it. Thanks for the advice. Will be dropping this customer.
