Looks like a fair price for a stainless 900 watt transformer but I am not familiar with this brand so I can not comment. Why not buy from a distributor that can help you with warranty issues if they ever arise. Did not see a warranty listed.

I have never seen that before. It is not UL listed. Take a shot. Our high end transformer has a life time warranty. UL listed, water resistant for outdoor mounting, multitap , 1000 watt, remote photo sensor, loaded with features, $350 Lawn site price free shipping money back if you don't like it. No risk.

The ad doesn't state whether the core is toroidal or EI type – toroidal types are much more efficient, suffer less voltage loss at full load, run cooler and have less vibration. Also the terminal taps are tiny, causing a problem when you have many wire runs that need the same voltage tap. It also does not seem to have magnetic circuit breakers on the secondary, meaning you have to change fuses. The warranty question is also important. All in all, better to buy from an established manufacturer with full knowledge up front. I've seen many low-quality transformers that have melted down – buyer beware!
