Hey I wanted to know the current price on the 9000's. Ive used a RBG grinder before and it was easy, simply and fast but everyone loves the magnamatic.

Anything i should know that would sell me on the magna matics?

    I have blades for 36 48 62 inch mowers

IMO Magnamatic, is the best.Following The cut off edge produces the perfect angle every time. You have to idiot to burn a blade on the magnamatic. The magnamatic sharpener, balancer are the super one-two punch of blade maintenance equipment.

Here is the information (price and specs) on the MAG-9000

Here is the manual to review its use.

As was mentioned above, a Magna-Matic sharpener will sharpen more quickly than an RBG, it will not burn the blade, and it will provide you with a consistant 30 degree angle every time. The RBG must be set and measured between every blade because it raises and lowers the wheel on a vertical axis in to a slotted hole.

    See design differeneces here:

We also intensely support our customers and products, with Magna-Matic you can call the factory and actually speak to humans about the product and get help with a problem, and order direct.

Let me know if you have more specific questions, or call me 800-328-1110 to discuss the sharpener.

    Thank you,

Hey I wanted to know if there are any specials going on.

Im still on the fence of an RGB grinder and the magnamatic. Ive never used a magnamatic and Im concerned in its performance. do the grinding wheels come with the angle grinded on them already. since the blades are grinded at an angle, unlike the RGB, I Would like to buy one next week.

    Hello CrewCut,

Our grinding wheels come the same way as any wheel. They do not come at an angle. However, because we approach the wheel at an angle they dress themselves to that angle providing you with a greater than 1" wide cutting surface. This increases performance NOT reduces. If you have more surface area cutting you will cut faster.

The reason we approch the wheel at an angle is to use a single direction motor FOR SAFETY, because dual direction motors are unsafe. Approaching at an angle allows us to do left and right handed blades with a single direction motor, AND there is NO LIMIT to the EDGE LENGTH of the blade. RBG forces you to buy a more and more expensive grinder if you have longer blade edges. Their design puts the motor in your way.

Magna-Matic is the only manufacturer of lawn mower blade sharpeners that provides you with an angle reference point. When you lower the grinding wheel to the work table - you will always produce a 30 degree angle on the blade, no matter what diameter the wheel is at.

With RBG you need to measure the blade angle between every blade, because of their adjustment, as the wheel wears the angle will change. Changing the angle on an RBG is also more difficult, you must loosen 2 wingnuts, then turn a crank, then tighten the wingnuts.

Magna-Matic is a single crank, and as mentioned before; as long as you keep the grinding wheel lowered to where it is almost contacting the work table - this is always 30 degrees.

Also keep in mind that we generally run at higher RPM than RBG and use grinding wheels matched to lawn mower blade steel, to cut much more quickly and cool. You do not require grinding wheel dressing tools with a Magna-Matic sharpener; where dressing tools are standard/required accessories for RGB.

Please review our instruction manuals online

Also review this design difference section of our website for more differences between conventional modified bench grinder designs VS Magna-Matic.

Also note you can return our equipment in 30 days in a used condition if you don't like it for any reason - RBG does not take back used equipment, and neither do most of their dealers.

Let me know if you have any other questions or call me at 800-328-1110

    Thank you,
