Hello Lawnsite,
Longtime reader and first time posting a thread. To provide a little background information, I am 20 years old an have worked for my older brothers landscaping business for the past 5 seasons. I run a solo route for him and do 60 accounts a week ranging from small residential to larger churches and other commercial. I have just recently filed and llc, and am starting my own business this season, and my brother told me that I can use any of his equipment so that lessens the burden of capital investment.
I am currently in school full time, so I want to limit myself to 25-30 (about 0.3-0.5 acre each) customers so that I can still manage it during the fall and spring semester at school (my brother also said that if for any reason it becomes difficult to manage, he or one of his guys could help me). I have a marketing budget of $500-700 and was planning on developing a website on my own, creating a facebook and google business page, and running targeted ads on facebook to the neighborhoods, age, etc. variables that I want to target. I also am of course making business cards and lettering my truck.
My question is, is it realistic to assume that I could generate enough leads from these sources to have 25-30 weekly maintenance customers for this season? I am trying to project some revenue and expenses based off of an excel sheet that I have created, and really want to hit this number.
Thanks for any replies, please offer any other marketing ideas or growth strategies that you may have in mind. Also everyone have a good 2018 season!
