:blob3: scott, a piece of carbon may have broken off and this will resemble a seized motor, if the motor is siezed you can get a short block, everything is new all you have to do is put your old carb and muffler on it.

i pulled the plug and checked the carb port and ex port and did not see any scrathches,it has spark but does not start,it ran fine and when it died it just lost all power and shut down.the pull start does feel kinda stiky...maybe its a rod bearing or crank,if anyone has any ideas to check that would be great..thankyou

sounds like a compression problem. i would take something flammable like carb or brake cleaner and spray it in the carb venturi. hold the throttle wide open and see if it starts. if it does let it idle and see if it shuts down (acts like it is running out of gas). if it does or it won't start i would pull the jug and look at the rings. see if they are a blackish blue color, kinda tainted. if they are replace the piston assy. (piston, rings, and brg.). this will be ok as long as the cylinder is not scored or gouged.
