Here is a pond rehab recently completed. Larger pond (6x 12 ish) with a 50' stream. Stopped counting @ 125 + fish cleaning out. Nothing special though. Rock everywhere. I like to use a Delaware river stone on the bottom, but only 1 layer of 3-5" stones. Using large coping stones helps everyone (me/customer/kids) access ponds more easily. I'm sold on PondSweep skimmers (bellows door closes to stop water flow into skimmer/ vertical mat placement for easy access), but with father & son back together @ Aquascapes ??????? Small pond needed something, so after a total clean out, I used a terra cotta flue pipe filled w/ lava rock & drilled a hole in it. Job also included 500 sf pavers for a gazebo & outdoor kitchen. And yes I had to cut around all those posts.
