I just joined lawnsite.com - hope this post is in the right place.
I have a 2003 Red Max 7001 backpack blower. It has been running ok but when I took it out of winter storage I found that the throttle cable won't move. I can move the throttle handle as usual and I can move the mechanism by the engine that the cable connects to with my hand but the cable doesn't do anything. I'm not too mechanically handy but I would like to try to fix it myself. I thought either the cable is stuck, broke or something inside the plastic throttle is broke.
I don't know where to begin. If someone would give me some directions as to how to fix this I'd be very grateful.

This is very common, I usually wind up replacing my cable every 2 years or so. You don't even need any tools to do the job(if I remember correctly). Just unhook one side of the cable and pull from the opposite end. Attach the new cable and snake it through the tube and hook it to the other end.
