Today while doing maintenance on my equipment I noticed that the flange that mounts the air cleaner to the carburetor is warped. This is a plastic piece that has a rubber boot on one end and attaches to the carb via 3 screws on the other. Mine was warped enough to cause contaminated air to get past and into the carburetor. Check yours immediately! Mine was warped so that there is a sizeable gap in the top of the flange to carb mounting surface. Please no redmax bashing people, just trying to notify other owners of the problem I have discovered.

I had the same problem. The warranty says that the intake manifold is not covered but Redmax replaced it anyways. Take it back to your dealer.

redmax had a major issue with the choke plate failing and the elbow adapter warping and they actually should be replace under wty on all ebz8000's. my distrubutor told us about it at service school in december and even sent us a box of 100 of these kits at n/c wo we could retrofit the units we had instock and all the ones we sold. its works out nice, the new choke lever is much stronger and wont fall down and choke out your engine while running. evryone should question your dealer on these.
