I've heard that Redmax unveiled their new 8550 blower at GIE. Does anyone have footage of it or any information?

There are videos on YT. Someone posted a link the other day to the Husky version, which is the 580 II.

So I assume by the info provided it won't be in the same league as the new Echo or Stihl units?

Was told (not at GIE) mid Summer earliest for something to compare to 8010.

GIE units appear to be a stopgap like the 700X was for Stihl

For what its worth (and not trying to stray off-topic too much) I have two 570s and one 580. They're all brand new after replacing some stolen equipment.

For probably 80% of the time, I prefer the 570. The air speed is better than the higher cfm's when doing parking lots and sidewalks. The fact that a new 580 is shooting for more air volume doesn't impress me.

My apologies for straying off-topic a little. But may be helpful if you're not familiar with these blowers. If you are and you still want a new 580, I'll stick my nose back in my own business. :D

I have always been a Redmax fan. That's why I'm a Husky guy now. Not a close Redmax dealer but my usual dealer is awesome and they carry Husky.

Actually, it should still be very competitive with either. More CFM than the 800 ad around the same MPH.

High air speed as it relates to task completion times can be deceiving.

You see debris moved more quickly from a surface but you spend more time removing surrounding debris.

Regardless, will be interesting to see what RM brings out to compete.

I just posted in another thread that if I was to never have a stronger BP than my RM7500, I'd die a happy man.

My next BP will be mightier, but just sayin'.
