I read one post where the person said that the Redmax does not fling rocks around like the Stihl--something having to do with the clutch on the Stihl...What trimmer can I buy that will NOT bog down in higher grass or weeds? I want power and something that will cut through the toughest of grass...Redmax 2 cycle or the Stihl 4 mix...Everybody up here has Stihl, but is Redmax a contender?...Please let me know...thanks...

The Redmax BCZ3000S is the Beast; the best line trimmer bar none.

    Try 'em all, you'll know!

Redmax is great Lots of power. I dont know about not flinging rocks any trimmer can fling rocks if you hit them right. If it wasnt for pants my legs would be pretty scraped up from my redmax flinging pebbles and such.

I hear a lot of good things about Redmax equipment. I wish I had the chance to try some, but I can't think of one dealer around here that has any! I guess I will have to stick with Stihl. I expect they are both pretty good, and I haven't had any real problems with Stihl so far.

Redmax is available online. Wacolandscapesupply (link at top of page) has them.

For normal lawn trimming, the 2400 is way fine! The 3000 is better for the heavy, dense stuff.

RedMax 2600 Strato Charged is my new favoritre (30.00 more than 2400 here). Better than anyting we have on hand and are replacing 10 yr old stihl/echo with RedMax. Even thought about recip for poolside work. Nice stuff, and you will be shocked at how light it seems due to balance of the tool.

I was the one that posted about the Stihl kicking rocks bad and the clutch not locking up till higher rpm's. Since then the dealer has done some work on my Stihl and the power is much more controlable. I have also switched from runnng .095 to .105 line and I run an Edgit on all my trimmers. I still like my Redmax 2600 best. It seems to have more power and is lighter also. My vote is with the Redmax. I don't how much more power the 3000 has than the 2600 but if it has much more power it must be a hoss.

Stihl FS-110. Beast. Nothing stops it. Cannot coment on Redmax, no one around here sells them. Wish they did so I could try them.
