The truck looks awesome, I bet it will make a sweet plow truck. Is the 235 going to have a totem? Looks awesome, can't wait till you can start putting pics up again!!
Do you have a crew of guys working, or is it just you and your dad?

What do you keep busy at this time of year? Will you buy a 30 ton tag, or look into a lowboy to move the 235? You will be able to move some big ass rocks with that hoe! Posted via Mobile Device
I've never seen an excavator so clean! How long did it take to do the whole machine? That window tint is so dark, I love the way it looks on it. I bet its like sitting in the dark in broad daylight.

Right now our boulder supplier has a nice lowboy that he never uses besides to shuffle his loaders around between the cities and up north.. He is going to move it for us this year. We will see what the future brings though. Have our eyes on a few trucks and trailers. However the 235 will be brought up to Plymouth as soon as it gets plummed and the grapple put on. We have a few sites if not 2 miles apart and it will be in the same area most next year so it may be moved 3 times the whole year?
This time of the year we usually plow a little snow... but I dink around with my own projects and clean equipment up... bidding, collect some money owed, etc. It's time to relax a little.

I washed it, sealed it and waxed it the other day. Took about 6 hours, then I pulled it back in to install the lights and gave it another wax with a Carnuba that will last and protect it really well, waxing it takes about an hour and a half.
As for the tint, it's dark but I have no trouble seeing. It's makes it nice at dawn/dusk when the sun is low. I don't squint all day either. People don't try to approach me since they can't see me either. They stay far away.

Do your guys build walls too, or do you and your dad do most of that and they carry your boulders in?

No idea. The shop was built to fit a quad axle truck or a 16 ton excavator with room left. The 235 fits fine length wise, its the height of the hand rails that made it close.
Your truck is awesome! The Denali winter wheels, favorite GM wheel right now, look just as good as your summer setup. Wish I would have caught the original thread with all the build pics.
Good looking shop as well, I'd kill for that kind of space.
The DX85 should be done being plummed for the Towtem on Monday, I stopped by on Thursday and they were just waiting on a part and then it was all going back together. They got all the lines run and the hydraulic coupler fitted.
It sure was dirty/dusty though, going to need the same treatment of washing, sealing, waxing and lights when it gets here.
She looks great! I got a question about the shop's location though. Is it in a neighborhood behind your parents house and just looks like an oversized garage on the outside?

Just plan a little bigger than you think you'll need. Never thought we'd be buying new equipment or have something bigger than our Bobcat's and CX75.
You never know! This shop had to match the house because of HOA codes... even though they are pretty relaxed about it we couldn't just throw up a pole shed and tin it.
Bet that 235 will sling some boulders. You get a new grapple for the 85 also?
What is the 'stack' you are talking about? I know Lano was talking about something extra that's needed to run the Towtems and wonder if that is what they were talking about?

Oh yeah, can't wait to move some rocks on our jobsite in Plymouth.
I refer to the stack for the extra lines that need to be run for Towtem so you can run the open/close and rotate at eh same time. There is an additional hydraulic valve that is run to have all the functions.
If you get a Kubota KX80 they already are outfitted with the extra lines to run everything.
We swapped out machines today, the 235 is heading in to get plummed for it's Towtem.
The DX85 is all plummed up, just waiting for the ASG050-1 Towtem to come in and it just needs to be coupled and its ready for the season. I'm going to tint it, add/replace some lights with LEDs and add a light bar like the 235 got. They also rigged up a polished little stack for the 85, the other machines are getting the same for a little bling.
