is there a remote control for transformer. what is the best company.
if its for a single unit I would say the X-10 remote would work.......some may shoot me for saying that! LOL
I had a homeowner who purchased one of these for the system I installed and it works great. The range on it is impressive and it doesn't need direct line of sight. The price isn't bad as well. I've looked in one Radio Shack for these and they don't stock them in store usually until the Holidays.
I have used some RF remote control products by Linear in the past with really good results. You can find them on the web. They offer clean installations, with good range (300 to 500 feet is not uncommon) and they are relatively inexpensive.
Which product did you use with Linear? There are a ton of them.
ABT will work as well for what you need to do.
The receiver I have used is this one: http://www.linearcorp.com/product_detail.php?productId=924
It works with a wide variety of their Delta3 Transmitters. The range is very good and the price point is quite low.
Linear make other units in the Megacode, Multicode and MVP lines, but I have not tested them. Make sure you use a 12Vac Receiver and not a 24Vac unit. Wire up the output from the receiver to a relay module (Nightscaping, Vista, and Unique have them) and that is all there is to it. Program the transmitter and receiver to communicate on the same channel and you are done.
thanks for the help.
