Got my hands on a used trailer that has sat outside for a very long time and all of the wooden panels on the side and floor are rotted. Has anyone replaced theirs with metal? Which would be easier?

Wood would def. be easier and cheaper. When you say metal do you mean extruded aluminum or steel mesh?

Trust me you don't want that. The steel mesh on your trailer ramp is no designed to handle weight on it all the time. If you notice a lot of mesh ramps on trailers are messed up. Also with the price of steel. Wood is a heck of a lot cheaper. Plus steel is heavier so you cut down on your weight capacity.
