The chain on my bluebird aerator needs to be replaced. I bought a chain at lowes with the link connector piece. How do u get the chain to the length you need. The chain is 10' long and it needs to be 2 maybe 2.5 ft? How do you seperate the links? any info would help, this is the first chain i have ever attempted to replace. thanks. clayton*trucewhiteflag*

count the links on the old chain toget the lenght of the new chain. then use a chain braker to separate the chain or grind the pins on the wide link and use a hammer and punch to separate the link

any motorcycle shop can do it for you. Last time I had it done, it was just a few $$$.
