Just purchased an 02' walker 26 efi 48" deck from a member on the site. He informed me that a temperature sensor had just been replaced becuase it was showing a code 42 when doing a check. The problem was fixed but the code never cleared, so now whenever i do a check the code 42 will come up as well. Anybody know how to reset this or do i absolutely have to take it to the dealer?

if its a kohler motor you probably just have to disconnect battery for a few minutes like mine

Like he said... 15 or 20 minutes should do it.

engine temp sensor replacement can be done for no reason. What the real problem might be is in the harness up near the oil filter, they have these solderless connections for the plug and can pull apart and cause a sensor code. You replace a sensor and it still is there. Check it.
