Retaining wall advice needed!

    Iam going to be extending the existing retaining wall to where the path way made of rocks is, I Have never attempted this before so i am looking for adivce. what kind of base do i need to set the new retaining block on? I realize iam going to dig out alot of dirt but dont i need sand or something to make it level? any advice would be great!

    I use process/road base. Don't know what they call it in your area. Basically 3/4 stone with stonedust mixed into it and compact the hell out of it. I then use plain stonedust for fine grading/leveling. Good luck
