Whoever said you can't use a sonotube is wrong. I've done it numerous times. Place the tube and dig I side it, as the hole is being dug push down on the tube and keep digging. The hole will get dug without a problem.

He was saying no sonotube because its hard to dig a post hole in 3/4" gravel and saying the moisture will ruin the tube.

    1) When you employ latinos......Any hole anywhere WILL get dug. Guaranteed. A non issue.

    2) We usually cover the sonotube so water does not directly hit it.

What size shovel do you use for a 8" sonotube? Seems like it might be a little difficult.

DVS, I don't really know you and I always respected what you have said on here even though I don't post alt I do read a lot. I am mexican and I find what you said about Latinos very disrespectful.

Drakeslayer- we use a post hole digger.

Its unfortunate that you read my sentence with a negative tone. Perhaps you've had a long day? May I suggest that you go back and read it again with a positive, upbeat, down to earth tone?

I have employed latinos since 1997. I'm the minority at my enterprise.

Ask an American to dig a hole and they will hem and haw and stare at the ground and do everything but get the hole dug.

I assign the job to my employees (whom are latinos) and they make it happen. Done. No whining. No complaining.

    Thats a fact. Not theory.

So exactly what's "disrespectful" about that, JRJFENCE?

I apologize, DVS. I think I read it a little too fast and jumped the gun.
