Haven't posted here in a while, hope you all are having fun with family and friends throughout the holidays.

I am installing a system by IlluminFX called 'Rio' which is RGB LEDs controlled by a DMX controller. We are using 2-75 watt equivalent up lights on each of 3 Phoenix Canariensis (canary island date palm) around a pool area. I will post pictures when we are finished.

The controller allows you to pre-program 4 scenes (colors) and the system will reproduce 16 million colors. A decoder is needed so they can communicate with the controller. I am using 3 decoders, one for each palm tree. you can use multiple fixtures on the same decoder but they will be the same color. It will allow each palm to be a different color, for instance red, white and blue for 4th of July, etc. The fixture goes to the decoder and then to a DMX controller. A DJ who has a proper DMX controller can connect to this particular lighting system and use it in the dance lighting scenario. Pretty cool stuff!

It is not an 'out of the box' type product, IlluminFX will custom fit it to your needs. For more info on pricing I suggest you contact AJ at IlluminFX.

    Hi Tommy,

At Brilliance, we have a line of high-quality RGB light bars, self-contained UL listed IP65 units that come in various sizes. These units contain an internal run program or can be connected to a DMX mixer. If you want to see the specs on these, I can e-mail to you. Let me know......................

Is AJ still using an Ipod touch inside the controller?

If not what is he using now? In jersey unless that box was heated I know that Ipod would be done after one winter outside
