I was mowing our football field last week and noiticed a rust colored powder coming coming from the discharge chute on the mower. After I inspected closer and found that this powder was all over the playing section of the field. I asked my supervisor if anything had been put on the field that I was unaware of(I'm supposed to be the only one taking care of the grounds) and he didn't know of anything either. I was told it might be a fungus but sometimes we get a little extra "Help" from others. I was wondering if anyone would know what this is and How do I get rid of it?

This is rust. Fert real good let it grow tall then bag it. Clean your equipment real well so you don't spread it. This is cheaper and safer than using a fungicide.
