SA in hot sandy area: Help!

I have a lawn that is SA, and the front yard is sandy soil that the water flushes right through. This part of the lawn gets a ton of sun and fries the grass. Any thing I can do to help this? Would a top dressing help?

With all this rain nothing should be fried. .lol..cut it at 4.5 to 5 inches that will help. Everything in Florida is sand and St . Aug should be ok..

A lot of st Augustine is grown on muck. That should allow it to hold enough moister. Yea yea I'd cut it as high as possible so it shades itself
