Good thought! Had not considered that.
Didn't see a battery. Recoil start.
It still has to power the 12 volt clutch. The chute will only work when it's running which is coincidentally the only time you should need it.
I believe I read that it has an optional mulch plate and a 4+ cf catcher.
I like it
It would be interesting to see how it discharges with the chute up/off.
How fast does a 30" has to spin to get a nice clean cut? 2000 rpm.
Is a single blade spinning at lower rpm better than two blades spinning at higher rpm?
Some time ago John Deere and Exmark tried running running their decks with lower tip speed and received negative feedback on cut quality. 18,500 feet per second is the standard. Regarding engine rpms, most are set to run at 3600 for best results. 2000 would be pretty low for optimum air flow to cool the engine.
Yes, the BigMo is available now.
A demonstration video is available on YouTube at:
Sarlo BigMo 30 Hydro Performance Video
BigMo is available with a mulch kit, and a grass catcher will be coming on line any day now.

BigMo's exact width with the discharge deflector shield up is 32". Exact width, chute down is 38".
