    Hi Folks,

I have an older SWZ Hydro with a fixed deck and had a quick question. If I were to adjust the caster spacers so that the deck was pitched forward a quarter inch, would I in fact be cutting the grass shorter? I realize this is probably a ridiculous question, but I have to ask. I am pleased with the way the mower cuts currently, but I am always looking for ways to improve. I guess what i am most concerned with is I am happy with the cutting height of the grass, so would pitching the deck cut it shorter? Does that make sense?

    Thanks for the help,

Yes, when you adjust the front caster spacers it will change the cutting height. After you get the pitch set down a 1/4" in the front you will then have to fine tune your cutting height with the blade spacers. Also make sure your tire pressures are correct before you start the process because that can change the height of the back of the deck.
