What is the model and SN of the mower?
You do realize that tapered bearings need to have a certain pre-load, right?
Using trailer brngs. is not a problem, but ya gotta check/set the pre-load or clearance. I usually set em up dry and then hand pack/ grease and re-assemble.
BigFish I'm in the process of replacing the deck spindal bearings on my Tiercat and I'm just wondering about this "preload".. Please explain

So I took my 1.5" socket to a lathe and turned it down to the correct size. The yoke nut on the turf tiger needs the same thin wall socket.
Anyways on ebay they sell the thin wall socket. Search scag socket and it should pop up.
