Wondered if this 36" Scag walk-behind model is any good? It has the Kawasaki 451cc V-twin and appears to be belt instead of hydro drive. I am looking to buy it but have never run one and don't know about durability, cut quality, etc. of this Scag model. Any opinions?

I have two Scag Ztrs, they cut good and have been dependable. Scags mowers are made like tanks I think you will be happy with any of them. If you have the money I would recommend a hydro. I have a belt drive Toro and when it is wet the belts slip. My next walkbehind will be a Scag hydro, the hydros are easier to turn and you don't have to worry about belts slipping.

We have a couple Scag 32" units with belt drive and they are pretty darn good. We never used them to pull sulky but never had problem with them slipping. We also have hydro Scag units and the biggest advantage is in tight situations and backup the Hydro is really good.

I have that mower. I like it a lot. No problems with it.
