Scott Hydro drive fluid check/change.

    Friend at work has a 5 year old Scott lawn tractor with a Kohler motor and hydro drive. He would like to change the fluid in the hydro drive transmission. How is it done? He sent an email to Scott and basically they said to take it to the dealer. Is it a Peerless transmission?

    This could be a Peerless or a Hydrogear,Some of these units are filled from the factory and sealed (oil change not required) In most cases these units will out last the tractor they are installed in.Unless he's having a problem I wouldn't recomend doing any thing with it,He could be opening a can of worms.
