seat repair, spring seat

So my Yazoo ZT max seat bottom finally completely fell apart on me.

Prices of a new one (with high back, arm rests) are high.

So after seeing a youtube of a exmark repair, I thought I can do that.

But my bottom has 'springs' (3 squiggles of metal) on the bottom plywood. It looks 'permanently' attached to the the wood with 'rivets'/ buttons, no bolts.

How do I re attach these brackets to the new plywood? will I have to cut them off, drill holes & bolt them on?

If this doesn't make sense I'll post pics tomorrow.

$329 for a Michigan suspension seat from Northerntool.com
Might still be more than you want to spend but my spine loves me for getting one.

I think I fixed it. For now I just drilled holes large enough to fit those rivet/mushrooms into; hoping friction, gravity, wight will keep them in place.
