SO i got my first service request today, after 150 spent on fliers and 105 on a classified ad, i get a response from craigslist hah, such is life. The potential customer had a house about 34 miles away they wanted mowed bi monthly for the season, i said it was out of my service area. Mind you, i dont have a single customer, i hope i did the right thing. I saw someone else say in a different post that they would drive an hour for new contacts, i took it he was joking...What would you have done?

    34 minutes away and bi-monthly?

WTF kind of a a-hole is he? Tell him to stick it.

You did the right thing ... pass on it !!
  7. I'd have asked for mileage because it's outside of my normal service area.

34 miles? I would have done it but charged accordingly.

It would never be worth it to travel that far for just one job. It would be a whole different story if you had 10 or more jobs out there. You made a good decision. Just keep putting your name out there and you should get some more calls soon. Good Luck!
