How many Sq. Ft. should a 50# bag of seed cover when overseeding after aerating?
That would depend on what type of seed you are using.
For overseeding existing turf with tall fescue, I try to put out 4-5 pounds per 1000 sf, so a 50# bag will get you 12,500sf at 4 pounds a 1000sf and 10,000sf at 5 pounds a 1000sf.
The back of the bag will tell you recommended rates for overseeding or new turf.
i use a 5 way rye with bluegrass and creeping red fescue. full sun 4lb. per 1,000 shade areas 2lb per 1,000
