seed selection question

I am in need of advice regarding grass selection in the transition zone. My lawn was originally seeded with K-31 fescue by the builder (5 years ago). I overseeded that fall with Rebel. The next spring, I had good thick grass, but much of it died during the summer heat. I have overseeded each fall since with Lesco's Transition blend but I still lose a lot of turf in the summer, even with irrigation. This brings me to my problem: over the past couple of years I have been getting an infestation of common bermuda. I have tried to control it with Fusilade to no avail (comes back with a vengance after a couple of months). Do any of you know if Crewcut fescue or another variety can compete with common bermuda or will it just choke it out like other fescues? My second question is, should I just give up and sow one of the new bermuda strains instead?
