Seed starter mulch

    Does anyone use the seed starter mulch that retains water. It looks like rabbit food or something but expands when its wet. Is it worth the extra expense? Does it work? I think it has a light starter fert built into it also.

    Yes we use it on smaller areas, Penn Mulch it's called, and it works good. On bigger areas, we cover with peat moss. We will not use straw.

    How do you broadcast or spread the peat moss on large areas?
