seed with this?

Has anyone used one of these for seeding. I am thinking about one to get better seed to soil contact than just spreading seed. Ideally I would use this after core aerating but that isn't always possible. I don't do a lot of seeding but do have a couple good size jobs this year.

I don't have a lot of money to spend and the rental options here are pretty slim.

Ive seen them in Lowes and i do not think there is enough weight to penetrate the soil enough to drill the seed in. Of course you can always try it then take it back later if it sucks too bad.

if it doesn't weigh enough just throw a couple of cinder blocks on top and bungy on. Or a couple of weights if you have them.
