I have a customer who is wanting some seed planted in a spot that is pretty shady and has never had grass there before. It used to be under trees with lots of leaves. The ground is just dirt under the leaves. The trees are also cut down now. I am wondering if you guys have a better suggestion than to throw some creeping red seed and scotts turf builder fertilizer on it. I would appreciate any comments.

get a soil test to see why it isnt growing there.

probably needs some lime.

i had the same problem, had to lime the area, till it up, plant seeds and thin out some ot the tree limbs to let light thru
