I am pretty new to this site and I have a question if anybody could help? I have a job of seeding a yard that is 2.8 acres this spring and the house sits on the yard which is 4,000 sq. feet. I did a little research about how much seed to lay out per 1,000 sq. feet and came up with the answer 8-12 pounds. There is 43,560 sq. ft. in an acre and with the yard being 2.8 acres minus the 4,000 sq. ft. of the house this would leave the yard being 121,968 sq. ft. Considering I layed out 10 pounds of seed per 1,000 sq. feet then this would make me lay out 1,219.68 lbs. of seed correct? This figure seems off to me, am I doing something wrong?
