What do you guys for seeding a new lawn?

Do you put the seed down with a spreader and rake it in. Or do you do it differently.

I normally rake it in by hand with a big rake then roll.

I have a big area to cover, wasn't sure if there was an easier way. But then again nothing is easy.

    Thanks Tony

Once there area is prepared, you have two options. 1) Get your hands on a small tractor and drill seeder (Brillion, Land Pride, etc.). Bigger the area, bigger the seeder. 2) Hydroseed it.

If it is an acre or bigger, go the tractor/seeder route. Saves the most time and the client money unless he wants it hydroseed.

Spread it, then use an areator to turn up the soil and put the seed where it need to be.
