Does anyone run any of the Shindaiwa equipment that has the new hybrid 4 engine. If so what piece of equipment do you have and how well do you like it?

I bought the Shindaiwa eb854 last fall. So, far it's been quite good. Lots of power, starts easy as long as you follow their starting system, not too bad on fuel. Time will tell if the H4 engine is a good one but no complaints so far.

They are very very similiar to the original C4 engines. The C4 25cc and 34cc has been very very reliable from day one. I don't see why the H4 be any different. I have the C4 hand held blower and has been very reliable, no warmup needed. The original C4 79cc is a different story. They are going to have to proof it is reliable.

My experience with four of the machines with valves was and is very bad. Those units just can't be tuned so you can easily edge with them. No low end torque.......I will never ever buy another one unless no 2 strokes. And starting is very hard not like advertised. Oh I am in second year with them and 3 out of four is in the shed.
