I own a Shindaiwa T230 trimmer, which is 15 years old. It has a head that requires individually threading two 18" pieces of line. Does anyone know if there is a more modern head that can be retrofitted to my trimmer so that line is automatically released when it wears out.

    Thanks

    Dennis

you can also install the echo type head which I prefer over the speed feed

Check to see if your head has an removal adapter....if yes that is what you use to mount the echo speedhead....that is how I mounted head onto stihl.

I have installed an Oregon 450 (55-265) on my t230 using one of the adapters. the new trimmer head is screwed on seemingly tight. But the new head wobbles up and down 1/8 to 1/4 inch between the spacer and the bottom of the new trimmer head. Is this ok?

    Thanks
