I have a t230x and mine has a hole in the collar just above the trimmer head you put an allen wrench or something equivalent in there then turn the head untill it pops into another hole in the shaft houseing then you turn it clockwise as you look at the button of the trimmer it has a left hand screw i hope this helps

I'd highly recommend NOT going speed feed head, at least if you have any volume at all to your operation. I thought it sucked big time. I bumped through my head in less than two weeks before it fell apart. Shin's standard head is good enough with replacement heads fairly cheap. Just my 2 cents!

Ours has a hole that you put a flathead screwdriver in it and it pops out.
