Are PB270 Shindaiwa trimmers still the same as a couple that I bought 3 years ago, I heard they changed the carb, I love the ones I got, and I want the same power. My dealer quoted me a price of $360 for the trimmers and offered me a deal if I buy 2 and a 630 backpack blower. Im not fammiliar with the 630 backpack blower I have Echo 751 and 651 blowers, and would not want to loose any power in these either. Any help would be great

Due to stranglehold EPA tactics, it is doubtful that you will find the same carburetors on 2 cycle equipment today that you had 3 or 4 years ago.

Not the manufacturers fault with something like that.

Does any one have a new PB270 with the new carb and think it compares to the old one?

Are you referring to the PB (power broom) 270 or the trimmer T270?

The old shin trimmers were great, but the new ones suck. It works okay until the engine gets hot. Its got a catilac converter which makes the engine overheat. Why would you get a shindawa when you could get a redmax 2600s for less $.

Not everybody likes or has a Redmax dealer. Like me!

If you dont have an redmax dealer around you... you can order one online! you will not like the shin, I have owned many trimmers and it was the worst hands down. The echo 261t and stihl 4-mix are nice as well. :waving:

you will get the new carb, 1st thing pull the screen pull the metal flap up and drive a hole in the muffler with a nail or center punch this will help.

    If I don't have a dealer...I don't want their product. I have 4 Shindaiwa products...and wouldn't trade them for anything!
