I have been using one for the last month on and off. It is an awesome machine. It takes some getting used too, because you go forward unlike the brown which is reverse. It is much larger, but is also self propelled, so you can get to a large back yard without using a days energy like the brown. You need to trailer it or have ramps for a pickup, cause it as heavy as a 36" mower. It rents for $170.00 a day with a $3639.00 retail, you can also get the option of the bed groomer for existing beds so you don't kick all the dirt into the bed your mulching. I have used both the bluebird bedbug, and the sidewinder, sorry can't compare the brown. the bluebird ranges around $1800, and the sidewinder goes for about $4300. my vote goes for the sidewinder. it has self propelled and it is very manueverable. Even on contours and grade changes, that's where the bedbug lacked. My first thoughts was, "boy, this machine is huge, and I was going to have a hard time seeing where the bed edger blade was cutting." but that's not the case, it was very agile, and infact, you could retrace the bed twice if needed. I rented this for one day, and it made the job effortless. $50 for 5 hours, $80 for the day.

I was quoted today:#1305SP-$4341.00 ( grooming blade), #1305SP1-$4709.00 (grooming blade + bed opening blade), Rake#A1300B-$2252.00, Broom #A1300B-$3161.00, #1305DL (differential lock) $54.00 is needed for the broom and rake.....It rents for $150.00 per day with the Bed Grooming Blade. They didn't have a broom or rake for me to look at. I was interested in renting the unit with the rake to test it out and see what it will do.
